Suffering from a Past Trauma?

For over thirty years, the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety has pioneered the development of the most effective treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Our center specializes in helping people who have suffered from the most serious traumas, including combat veterans, assault victims, and refugees. Our treatment typically relieves symptoms of trauma in 8-15 weekly sessions.

We also have special no-cost programs for smokers with PTSD (TOPS Project) and teens traumatized by sexual abuse (STAR Project) as part of our ongoing research programs to improve the quality of our proven therapies. If you are interested in receiving treatment, contact us today for a comprehensive mental health assessment and a discussion of your treatment options.

Trapped by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder?

The CTSA has been on the cutting edge of development and refinement of the best therapies for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) for decades. Our treatment typically involves 17 outpatient sessions. We offer weekly, twice-weekly and intensive (daily) treatment for OCD. Treatment involves a combination of behavioral and cognitive techniques. Therapists work directly on the problem symptoms and deliver treatment outside of the clinic and in the home as needed. Patients who are already on medication for OCD may be eligible for our no-cost research program (Maximizing Treatment Outcome in OCD).

If you are interested in receiving treatment from some of the best therapists in Philadelphia, contact us today for a comprehensive mental health assessment and a discussion of your treatment options.

Do Feel Anxious, Worried, and Fearful?

We treat many anxiety disorders, including recurrent panic attacks, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, social anxiety disorder, and many other phobias. All of our treatment is done using evidenced-based, research proven cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques. Treatment tends to be short term (15 sessions or less), with sessions once per week and daily homework to speed the treatment process. Most patients feel much better after treatment, with many making a complete recovery.

The Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania is...
